A critical business function is a group of logically related tasks performed together to accomplish a mission-critical objective.

#1 Ombudsman Example

This business function has three staff in one office using an issues tracking system. This critical business function is supported by only one critical business application with no critical external dependencies.

#2 Industrial Licensing Example

This business function has 60 staff in multiple locations using three separate business applications. One of these critical business applications has critical external dependencies.
